Cosmos History

Jae Kwon launched Tendermint Inc. in 2014 after integrating Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) research into a proof-of-stake (PoS) public blockchain framework. Then, Ethan Buchman teamed up with Jae Kwon to create Tendermint, which launched the initial software development for Cosmos in 2016. On March 13th, 2019, Cosmos Hub was formally launched.
