Baggage Policy

China Airlines' elite members have privileges such as access to the VIP lounge, a higher checked baggage allowance, and being to upgrade their ticket to a different cabin.

Carry-on Baggage

For all travel classes, cabin baggage on China Airlines flights must not exceed 7kg in weight and must not exceed 22 x 14 x 9 inches in size. An extra piece of cabin baggage is permitted for passengers travelling in Business Class.

Prohibited items must be stored in checked baggage, including any fluid exceeding 100ml. If passengers were to travel with any fluid, it must be within 100ml and packed within a plastic bag for airport security check. Prohibition items found by airport security upon arrival at the airport will be removed or disposed of.

Checked Baggage

For China Airlines economy class, checked baggage must not exceed 32 kg in weight. Whereas checked baggage should not weigh more than 40kg in business class.

Business class passengers can pre-order food 14 days before flying, up to 24 hours before flying.

China Airlines passengers can check in online and at the airport. Opening and closing times will change depending on where your flying to.

Online Check-in

China Airlines passengers can check-in online for their flight using their reservation number. China Airlines lets you check in online between 48 hours to 60 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. If you're flying from the United States, you're subject to local government regulations, and the online check-in time is available 24 hours to 60 minutes before departure. All Dynasty Cardmembers can check-in for flights online.

China Airlines operates a frequent flyer loyalty program called Dynasty Member to reward regular passengers.

Dynasty Member

China Airlines officially became a member of the SkyTeam in September 2011. The airlines updated redesigned their logo and refreshed its brand image. China Airlines offers services for unaccompanied minors. These services are for young passengers who are aged between 5 and 12 years who are travelling without parents or guardians and who are at least 18 years of age. Expectant Mothers

For flight safety and health of the passenger, it's required that they would need to speak to our reservation staff of their expected date of delivery. It's highly recommended that all pregnant mothers take their medical records with them whilst travelling. As they may be asked to show these records before flying. For the safety of the passenger and their unborn child, China Airlines restricts passengers from travelling beyond 36 weeks or a gestation period over 32 weeks with multiple pregnancies.

Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is an international airport based in Taiwan. In 2018, Taiwan Taoyuan Airporrte handled over 46.5 million passengers and 2.3 billion kg of freight. This means that Taiwan Airport was known as the 11th busiest airport globally.

At this moment, Taoyuan International Airport has 2 operating passenger terminals. The 3rd terminal is under construction and the 4th terminal is being planned, however plans to make a 4th terminal could be changed. The airport has two parallel runways, one being 3660 meters in length and another 3800 meters in length and both 60 meters wide.

This airport is Taiwan’s biggest airport which has been operating from 1979 under the name of Chiang Kai-shek International Airport (TPE) but had its name changed in 2006 to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Today the airport is one of the busiest airports in the world with 35 million passengers using the airport each year.
