About Up

Up was a low-cost Israeli airline that operated scheduled flights out of its hub base Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). The airline was founded on November 2013 by its parent El Al to be used on some routes to Europe where it ceased operations 5 years later and Up was replaced by its parent company.

The airline provided scheduled passenger services to European countries including Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Ukraine.

Overall, the airline had a fleet of 4 Boeing 737-800 aircraft that could in total carry 720 passengers at one time.

Until 14 October 2018, the airline had scheduled flights to 6 destinations to Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Israel and Ukraine. These cities included Larnaca (Larnaca International Airport - LCA), Prague (Prague Airport - PRG), Berlin (Berlin Brandenburg Airport - BER), Budapest (Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport - BUD), Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion Airport - TLV) and Kyiv (Boryspil International Airport - KBP).

Airport check-in closed one hour before flight departure time at all airports. However, it was recommended that passengers arrived at check-in at least three hours before their flight was scheduled to depart.

The airline mostly operated small flights and there was only one cabin class that was offered on the aircraft and that was the standard Economy class. The airline offered its passengers with amenities such as the one free checked piece of baggage, snacks, drinks and the option of choosing your seat.

What Are Economy Seats Like?

Passengers could enjoy comfortable and spacious seating with a good amount of legroom. Seats were positioned in a 3 x 3 formation and passengers could enjoy 76–86 cm of seat pitch and 43 cm of seat width. The team were always on-hand to help.
